Students are divided into three groups, and ready to lend an ARM:

The AREA Students Group: Input for Consideration
“The People and the Lands”

The Area Group:

  1. Put together a map showing the location of Middle Eastern countries and its resources.
  2. Gather information on the local governments, religions and economics of surrounding Middle Eastern territories such as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, etc.
  3. Is there any significant history related to any of the above mentioned Middle Eastern countries?
  4. What are some of the sub-cultures of the above mentioned countries?
  5. What are some values, habits, family structures, government practices, etc. that are unique to the above Middle Eastern countries?
  6. What are some languages, religions, ethnicities, foods, etc. that are distinctive to the above countries?
  7. What other information can you find that you think has military, political, educational or financial importance (locally or globally)?

The REPATRIATION Students Group: Input for Consideration
“Just Thought I’d Ask”

The Repatriation Group:

  1. When and why did the United States and other ally countries invade Iraq?
  2. What was the initial number of American troops deployed to Iraq for the war effort?
  3. What is the current number of active American troops in Iraq?
  4. What was the recently proposed number of additional American troops needed?
  5. What are some of the responsibilities of the active troops in Iraq?
  6. Do you think some, all or none of the American troops should be recalled back home?
  7. What is the demographical break down of the American troops in Iraq?
  8. Are there any other countries that are currently serving along side American forces in Iraq?

The MONEY Students Group: Input for Consideration
“Pay Up”

The Money Group:

  1. What are some of the sources of wealth in Iraq and the surrounding Middle Eastern countries?
  2. What impact, if any, has the war had on the communities and wealth of the Middle East?
  3. Has there been significant financial loss, gain or opportunity as a result of the war?
  4. What has been some of the “cost” of the war?
  5. What is the reconstruction plan for Iraq? 
  6. What companies (and where are the parent companies located) have played a role in the redevelopment efforts of Iraq?
  7. Have there been any profits made from the war and/or reconstruction efforts?  If yes, then who has received those profits?
  8. What are some of the countries, companies, organizations, etc. financing the military presence and reconstruction efforts in Iraq?
  9. What is the estimated bottom line of the financial cost of this war to America?
  10. From a businessman/woman position, what recommendations would you make to the current American government and Iraqi government about what should happen in Iraq next?
